The highly excited C - H stretching states of CHD 3 , CHT 3 , and CH 3 D

چکیده
Unlike many other molecules having local modes, the highly excited C-H stretching states of CHD3 show well resolved experimental spectra and simple Fermi resonance behavior. In this paper the local mode features in this prototype molecule are examined using a curvilinear coordinate approach. Theory and experiment are used to identify the vibrational state coupling. Both kinetic and potential terms are employed in order to characterize the coupling of the C-H stretch to various other vibrational modes, notably those including D-C-H bending. Predictions are also made for CHT 3 and the role of dynamical coupling on the vibrational states of CH3D explored. Implications of these findings for mode-specific and other couplings are discussed.

Dynamics of the O(3P) + CHD3(vCH = 0,1) reactions on an accurate ab initio potential energy surface.
Recent experimental and theoretical studies on the dynamics of the reactions of methane with F and Cl atoms have modified our understanding of mode-selective chemical reactivity. The O + methane reaction is also an important candidate to extend our knowledge on the rules of reactivity. Here, we report a unique full-dimensional ab initio potential energy surface for the O((3)P) + methane reactio...
متن کاملThe Study of Dynamic Potentials of Highly Excited Vibrational States of DCP: From Case Analysis to Comparative Study with HCP
The dynamic potentials of highly excited vibrational states of deuterated phosphaethyne (DCP) in the D-C and C-P stretching coordinates with anharmonicity and Fermi coupling are studied in this article and the results show that the D-C-P bending vibration mode has weak effects on D-C and C-P stretching modes under different Polyad numbers (P number). Furthermore, the dynamic potentials and the ...

We investigate the OH-stretching overtone dynamics of fluorosulfonic acid (FSO(3)H) and chlorosulfonic acid (ClSO(3)H) using classical trajectory simulations. The initial nuclear coordinates and momenta for the trajectories are sampled from anharmonic correlation-corrected vibrational self consistent field (CC-VSCF) wavefunctions. We consider both OH-stretching overtone states and combination s...
متن کاملElectronic and vibrational spectroscopy of intermediates in methane-to-methanol conversion by CoO+.
At room temperature, cobalt oxide cations directly convert methane to methanol with high selectivity but very low efficiency. Two potential intermediates of this reaction, the [HO-Co-CH(3)](+) insertion intermediate and [H(2)O-Co=CH(2)](+) aquo-carbene complex are produced in a laser ablation source and characterized by electronic and vibrational spectroscopy. Reaction of laser-ablated cobalt c...
متن کاملVibrational vs. translational energy in promoting a prototype metal-hydrocarbon insertion reaction.
The reaction Y + CH(4) --> HYCH(3) --> YCH(2) + H(2) is initiated by C-H insertion involving a 20 +/- 3 kcal/mol potential energy barrier. The reaction is studied in crossed molecular beams under two different conditions with nearly the same total energy. One experiment is carried out at a collision energy of 15.1 kcal/mol with one quantum of CH(4) antisymmetric (nu(3)) stretching vibrational e...
